On this subject matter I agree to disagree that men and women use language differently. We have to think about the fact that everyone regardless if you are a man or a woman has different personality traits. It is hard to say that men and women are what separate it. Growing up with three older brothers in the house showed me that we can use language the in the same way as well in many different ways. One way that we use it the same is when we speak to our Grandma. I find that men as well as women are USUALLY very tender and loving when it comes to the elderly. The way I speak to my Grandma is about the same way my brothers speak to her as well. We are all on the same page. Now when it comes to relationships with a significant other, I find this is where we differ; not just between my brothers, but between any relationship out there. An example would be; when my boyfriend and I argue, I want to complain to my brothers about the situation and they are always on his side because I 'heard' him wrong. It becomes so frustrating when this happens because I feel that men are so black and white when it comes to anything. (Well they can be at least) I go back and forth because I don’t know if men are all really like this when it comes to language in a relationship, but it sure seems like it. I go so back and forth over this, and still cannot figure it out.
